Texan Dry Rubbed Eye Fillet Steak

This recipe includes a number of Krio products and is a perfect example of how anyone can create amazing dishes in a short amount of time with some help from our amazing Krio range.

 

INGREDIENTS:
  • Eye fillet steak – 300gms
  • Krio Potato Pearl Mash – 100gms
  • Water – 400ml
  • Krio Texan Dry Rub – 30gms
  • Krio Herb & Garlic Seasoning – 5gms
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

PREPARATION TIME: 40 minutes
COOKING TIME: 10-15 minutes

PREPARATION STEPS:
  1. 1. Lightly rub some oil on both sides of the steak. Rub the Texan dry mixture thoroughly on both sides of the fillet. Let stand for 40 min for the dry rub to permeate through the meat.

 

COOKING STEPS:
  1. To make the mash potatoes, add 1 part potato pearls to 4 parts boiling water. Whisk until incorporated. If you wish to enhance the flavor and the colour of the mash potato, you can add the Krio herb and garlic seasoning to it.
  2. Add oil to a medium hot pan. Seal the fillet on one side for 1 min then turn and seal for a further 1 min. Transfer to a hot oven until cooked to your liking.

 

PLATING:
  1. Rest the fillet for 4 min then serve with the potato mash.
